FP Newspapers Income Fund

Welcome to FP Newspapers Income Fund's Home Page on the Internet. FP Newspapers Income Fund ("the Fund") is an unincorporated open-ended limited purpose trust established on May 15, 2002.

The Fund owns a 49% interest in FP Canadian Newspapers Limited Partnership ("FPLP").

FPLP owns and publishes the Winnipeg Free Press and the Brandon Sun. In November 2001, FPLP acquired these newspapers and their related businesses from The Thomson Corporation.

The Winnipeg Free Press newspaper publishes seven days a week, serving Winnipeg and Manitoba with an average seven-day circulation of approximately of 124,000. The Brandon Sun also publishes seven days a week, serving the region with an average circulation of approximately 14,000.

Both the Winnipeg Free Press and the Brandon Sun enjoy a history that is closely tied to the communities that they serve. The Winnipeg Free Press, founded in 1872, is the oldest newspaper in Western Canada. The Brandon Sun was founded in 1882, the same year the City of Brandon received its charter.

In July, 2004 FPLP completed the aquisition of the community weekly newspapers and advertising distribution businesses from Transcontinental Media. The five weekly newspapers acquired are in the Winnipeg area, and the advertising delivery business operates in Winnipeg and Brandon, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario. Canstar Community News Limited ("Canstar"), a wholly owned subsidiary of FPLP, operates the acquired businesses and publishes weekly with an average circulation of approximately 206,000. Results of these businesses are consolidated from the July 13, 2004 acquisition date.

In July, 2005 Canstar acquired Winnipeg based Rosebud Publications Ltd. ("Rosebud"). Rosebud is the publisher of Uptown Magazine, a weekly entertainment newspaper serving Winnipeg, with a circulation of approximately 17,000 copies. A subsidiary of Rosebud is the publisher of The Prime Times newspaper, aimed at age-50 plus readers in the Winnipeg area, with a twice monthly circulation of approximately 10,000 copies.

Based in Winnipeg, the combined businesses employ approximately 630 people in Winnipeg, Brandon and Thunder Bay.

The Fund owns securities entitling it to 49% of the distributable cash of FPLP. The Fund's policy is to make monthly distributions to Unitholders of its distributable cash.
